The disciples wanted Jesus to accompany them to Jerusalem for the Feast of Tabernacles.

Us grownups like to complicate things, don’t we?

Even the disciples failed occasionally.

Surely, in the transfiguration of Jesus, the three disciples were privy to a scene unprecedented in the whole sweep of mankind’s history.

So Peter makes this wonderful proclamation that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of the Living God.

Sometimes we can be really stupid, even if the truth is staring us in the face.

Jesus went out of his way to upset the religious authorities by healing a man … on the Sabbath day, which went against their man-made laws.

So he healed a blind man in a very unconventional way, involving his own spit.

Healing a deaf and mute man? Nothing was impossible for Jesus, of course.

This is faith at its boldest.
