LUKE 13:22, JOHN 10:22-42

‘My sheep listen to my voice; I know them and they follow me’. Sheep? Yes, that’s us. It can seem a very negative image, of blind followers, of aimless beasts needing constant guidance. Yet, this is how Jesus sees us, but he does so from his perspective; as people that need guidance and protection and assurance.

We should bask in this description. It may be a blow to our pride to be described as sheep, but better a sheep than a wolf. And there are plenty of wolves around, even within the Church. Let’s not forget our absolute reliance on Him and be humble enough to accept his guidance, even when we think we know better.
